Personal Information

I'm Randy Presley. Back in my Air Force days when it was "First Name, Middle Initial, Last Name", I was Augustus R. Presley, Jr. I grew up and still live at Mt. Pleasant, TX. That's about 100 miles northeast of Dallas on I-30. On November 27, 2005 I married Sheryl Moore Mason, a widow that I have known for about 40 years. My first wife, Jan, died of Alzheimer Disease on January 21, 2005.

Below are pictures of both of our families on the wedding day:

The Presley Family

Behind him is Sheryl's sister, Marci Smith. To the right of Sheryl and Randy are Clint and Tina Moore and their son, Dylan. First row on the right are Jan Fox and Tres Moore. Note: Tres and Jan Fox married in 2007.

Sheryl attended UT/Austin and was runner up for Sweetheart of the University. She majored in English and Spanish. The father of her three sons is Randy G. Moore of Omaha, TX. She later married Bruce Mason in 1990 who died in 2001.

Together we now have six children and eleven grandchildren. Jack Presley and Clint Moore are airline pilots. Jeff Presley and Tres Moore work for insurance agencies in Houston and Longview, TX respectively. Cindy Presley McWhorter and Todd Moore’s wife, Deidi, are teaching in schools. Jack Presley’s wife, Lesa, teaches at Schreiner College in Kerrville, TX. Laurette Presley is taking some college courses and working part time at Chapelwood UMC in Houston. Todd Moore ranches in Omaha, TX and has recently taken a new job in sales for Texas Forest Products Co.

Cindy and Tom McWhorter’s oldest, Sarah, is working for Hobby Lobby at their headquarters in Oklahoma City in art and design. Their son, Jeff, attends UT/Austin. Jeff and Laurette Presley’s oldest are twins. Caroline is in medical school and Joseph works for Chubb Insurance. Their son, Stephen, is at UT/Austin and son, Robert, is at LSU. Jack and Lesa’s son, Kevin (15) attends high school Texas Military Institute, where he is in the corps. Laura (12) attends public school at Boerne, TX, and excels academically and in sports.

Clint and Tina Moore’s sons, Dylan (12) and Jake (9), attend Pewitt School in Omaha, TX, where they both excel academically and in sports. Todd and Deidi’s son, Zachry, is four and is in pre-school.

Both of our families have known each other for many years. The Presley and Moore kids learned to water ski on the same lake.

Sheryl and I are thankful for our good health, and we continue to enjoy each other and our life together.

I am a trustee for the perpetual care fund for an old rural cemetery at a small community that disappeared in the 1870's called Snow Hill, TX. My grandparents are buried at Snow Hill, as is Jan. Sheryl and I will be buried there, also. My son, Jack, is hosting a web page which is http://www.snowhill-tx.com/ . This has been an interesting undertaking in genealogy and history of the community. Snow Hill is not far from Mt. Pleasant, TX.

My dad started a wholesale grocery business here in 1927, and I joined him after leaving the Air Force in 1955. This business closed in 1980, and I have been doing corporate flying since 1980. I was flying for a highway paving company. This job came to an end in June of 2004, when the company was sold. The owners later bought their company back and I am still doing some flying for them.

I have loved to fly since I soloed a Piper Cub on April 8, 1946 at the age of 16 and 1 month. To mark the 60th anniversary of my flying, I soloed a Piper Cub again on April 8, 2006. I have attended Oshkosh almost every year and teach formation flying in North American T-6 aircraft for the North American Trainer Association as often as time permits.

The following pages are devoted to some of my endeavors and some of my military flying and personal flying adventures.
